“Greg Shaw is one of the most experienced executives in the Australian Country Music business. He has achieved enormous success in both the international and Australian markets as a manager and mentor to artists. He single handedly took Keith Urban from Caboolture to international stardom. Aside from his successes, Greg is known to all of his colleagues as a honest and highly trusted individual with a deep knowledge and understanding of the music business.”
“Jeff has the experience that only comes with time. He would be an asset to any major music event across the country.”
In October 2018, two veterans of the music business formed an alliance that had an immediate impact on the Australian event and festival market.
Greg Shaw has worked as a booking agent, promoter and artist manager and has represented or worked with some of the world’s biggest stars including Keith Urban, Kenny Rogers, Leo Sayer, Bert Bacharach, Dionne Warwick, Glenn Frey, Suzi Quatro and Foreigner to name just a few.
Greg is a highly skilled event manager with a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of sound, lighting, staging, talent acquisition, budgeting, marketing and publicity.
Greg’s skill-set also includes site and stage management which came to the fore when he managed the ‘Urban Country Festival’ which, at the time, was a signature event for the Morton Bay Shire. Plus, for the ‘City Musters’ in Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin & Perth.
Highly respected artist manager, Stephen White, (Lee Kernaghan, The Wolfe Brothers, Dragon, The McClymonts, Little River Band, ACDC etc.) says of Greg’s skills and reputation; “Greg Shaw is one of the most experienced executives in the Australian Country Music business.
Barry Harley, (Manager, Events & Country Music for Tamworth Regional Council) heads up the annual Tamworth Country Music Festival and also has some words of praise for Greg’s knowledge and experience; “I have worked with Greg over many years in a variety of capacities including artist management, tour, event and stage management. Greg’s skill levels are varied and well known but what makes him stand out amongst his peers is his professionalism and commitment to achieving the result. His ability to communicate at any level, whether it be with emerging artists or top line established acts, serves him well to achieve great outcomes.”
Greg’s long-time friend and associate, Jeff Chandler, also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to any event or project having managed a stellar roster of artists that included Tommy Emmanuel, Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole, Troy Cassar-Daley, Sara Storer, James Blundell and many more. Jeff was engaged as the Festival and Program Director for the Iconic Gympie Music Muster from 2012 until 2018, only leaving the role when the opportunity arose to again work with Greg.
As a Festival Director, Jeff engaged an array of artists including Sheppard, The Mavericks, Jimmy Barnes, Daryl Braithwaite, Jessica Mauboy, Kasey Chambers, John Williamson and Melbourne Ska Orchestra.
Troy Cassar-Daley sings Jeff’s praises when it comes to his abilities in the entertainment business; “Jeff has the experience that only comes with time. He would be an asset to any major music event across the country.” And Nicky Bomba, leader of the internationally renowned Melbourne Ska Orchestra says of his experience of working with Jeff at the 2018 Gympie Music Muster, “All matters involving logistics, transport, backstage, backline and finances were delivered promptly – and clearly – making the whole experience a seamless delight – nothing was too much trouble. The rollout was at an international level and it would be a pleasure to work with Jeff again.”
John Williamson comments that Jeff is “…trusted by all of us because he knows the business inside out,” while Bob Abbot (Director Gympie Muster Limited, former Mayor of Noosa and Sunshine Coast Councils) who worked along-side Jeff at the Gympie Music Muster for 5 years says “ Jeff is one of those people who can think creatively and work methodically which was much to the benefit of the Muster organization. His professionalism, considerable knowledge and respect in the music industry allowed him to play a major role in restoring the ‘Muster’ to its former position as one of Australia’s premier music festivals.”
The newly formed partnership represents a force that can deliver a high-quality music event, on time and on budget.
